10 Things You Can Do To Prevent Child Abuse
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
At Childkind, approximately half of the children with special needs that are placed in our foster care program have been abused or neglected. Here are 10 ways you can help prevent child abuse:
- Never discipline your child when your anger is out of control.
- Participate in your child’s activities and get to know your child’s friends.
- Never leave your child unattended, especially in the car.
- Ask questions; for example, when your child tells you

The 4th Annual Thriving Children Gala is happening again this year, on April 26th!

Valentine’s Day: Dining out for Childkind
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?
Take your sweetie to D.B.A. Barbeque and 20% of your check will be donated to our annual gala, Thriving Children! The Gala benefits Childkind, Fragile Kids Foundation, and The Center For Children and Young Adults– all working to support children who have special healthcare needs and who are at risk of homelessness.

Help Us Win a Technology Makeover!
Childkind is participating in the “Technology Jumpstart your Nonprofit” contest for a chance to win an office technology makeover from Milner, Inc. The winning organization will receive new office and network equipment at a value of $15,000 to $20,000!
This makeover would allow us to be more efficient in providing services for those who need it most. And, typically, money raised tends to support our mission, rather than offset business technology costs.
