Training Calender

Throughout the year we provide training for foster or resource families, caregivers, and social services staff from private agencies or from DFCS.   We also have orientation sessions for people interested in becoming a foster or resource parent. Read more >>

Placement Services

Medically fragile and developmentally disabled children in state custody or those in need of skilled care outside of their biological family can find family based care with Childkind. The agency recruits, trains, and supports foster, adoptive, and host parents for these children. Since our founding we have provided family placement for over 600 children. Family Support

A strong foundation for family based care must include access to the spectrum services and resources that will be needed. Childkind provides assistance accessing Medicaid Waiver services, grants for equipment or minor home accessibility modifications, emergency medical supplies, coordination of school-based, community and other neighborhood supports. Transition Support

For families having trouble parenting children with medical or developmental challenges, for families being reunited with their children after a period of out-of-home care or hospitalization, or for families that have experienced a major life changing event, Childkind offers care coordination, in-home training, and other services designed promote a positive, healthy, and nurturing environment. Become a Foster Parent

If you have the aptitude and skill to provide care for a child with medical and developmental disabilities we would love to hear from you! Our parents come from many walks of life. They are nurses, special education teachers, therapists, and quite often, adults with the ability and desire to care for the kids we serve.
