Medically fragile and developmentally disabled children in state custody or those in need of skilled care outside of their biological family can find family based care with Childkind. The agency recruits, trains, and supports foster, adoptive, and host parents for these children. Since our founding we have provided family placement for over 600 children. A strong foundation for family based care must include access to the spectrum services and resources that will be needed. Childkind provides assistance accessing Medicaid Waiver services, grants for equipment or minor home accessibility modifications, emergency medical supplies, coordination of school-based, community and other neighborhood supports.
