Foster Care
The Placement Services program ensures that Children with special health care needs or developmental disabilities in state custody or those in need of skilled care outside of their biological family can find family based care with Childkind. Childkind recruits, trains, and supports skilled foster, adoptive, and host parents for these children.

Respite Services
Childkind provides temporary family care designed for children with special health care needs and developmental disabilities.
Services include:

- Family to Family Connection
Host Homes
Childkind’s Host Home program is a long term placement option for those children with special health care needs who are aging out of foster care. The Host Home program was designed to ensure that the children served through Childkind’s foster care program can transition with the foster care family and into the host home program upon reaching the age of 21.
Host Homes are funded through Georgia’s Medicaid waiver programs. Host Homes participants must meet all eligibility criteria for SSI and Medicaid to include the federal definition of disability. Childkind is pleased to offer this program to the children in our care as a means to maintaining the relationship with the foster family that has provided their care during their time in state custody.
