Placement Services

Children with medical or developmental disabilities live best when part of a loving and skilled family, fully able to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.

Sometimes children need to reside with a foster or resource parent, away from their biological home. Each child and family has a unique story about how they got into the foster care system. With Childkind, this temporary journey will be with a genuine family, in a real home, within a supportive community.

Since our founding, we have provided over 600 children with medical and developmental disabilities skilled family foster care.

Some children get adopted into a new family. Other are reunified with their biological families after their moms and dads have had a chance to prepare themselves for the challenge of parenting a child with medical or developmental disabilities.

For every child and family in our Placement Services program, we provide a support services and care coordination to insure each household is well connected to the community resources they will need in order to be successful.

We consider our Placement Service program to be successful each time a child with no parent is given a new mom or dad; an admiring parent proud to see their child grow and thrive to the best of his or her ability.

Also, we celebrate when biological moms and dad become able parents, ready to care and provide for their child with medical or developmental disabilities. Together we work for a successful reunification, establishing connections with neighborhood, community, and government organizations to insure the right resources are there when they need them.
